Ingsoc 2.0

2014

This project consists of the new edition of George Orwell’s novel “1984”, which describes a hypothetical totalitarian society where there is no privacy and the manipulation on population is “totalitarian” . Using resources and references in the 2.0 world, the novel hybrid Ingsoc2.0 criticized the “era” we live in.

One was where the life of the ‘user is constantly watched through the use of smartphones and social networking tools that have changed our habits and way of living. Following the new line of graphic novel hybrid, this project is developed by the supporting paper (printing) and digital, thereby expanding the experience of the user.

The interaction takes place through the use of two kinds of QR codes, the classic, that with the use of it, is possible to scan with any standard player and the second, that through a free application called “Onvert,” serves to complete the image printed on paper with the augmented reality technology.
Orwell was inspired to create the Panopticon Big Brother and my idea stems from the observation of what happens in the universe of the internet and facebook in particular, hence the reinterpretation of the dystopian novel “1984”. My intention is that the reader will change its perception of new technologies by highlighting its most risky and dangerous.
